We are Lancaster’s local Strong towns conversation.
Lancaster is full of potential. We’ve got great neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and people who care deeply about this place. But we also see the room to continue improving:
Safe streets that are enjoyable to walk or bike on
Housing options for everyone
Transportation options
Strong local businesses
Strong Towns Lancaster exists to help make that happen. We're a grassroots group of neighbors taking small, practical steps to build a more resilient, people-focused city.
We’re a new and growing group, and we’d love for you to be part of it. Whether you’re curious, skeptical, or ready to dive in, there’s space for your voice and your skills here.
What we’re doing
BIke Bus To Long’s Park
This summer, we’re leading group rides to the Sunday evening music series at Long’s Park. It’s a fun, safe way to ride together and imagine what everyday biking in Lancaster could look like.
Park(ing) Day – Friday, Sept 5
We’re joining a global event by turning a downtown parking space into a people-friendly spot for gathering, play, or rest. It's a one-day preview of how streets can serve more than just cars. Learn more about Park(ing) Day here.
Monthly Meetups
We gather the last Tuesday of each month to share ideas, make plans, and connect with others who care about Lancaster’s future. Anyone is welcome! Join our email list or follow us on Instagram for updates.
What We Believe

We’re inspired by the Strong Towns movement - a national network of local groups working to make towns financially strong, people-centered, and built to last. That means:
Investing in places that already work
Fixing what we have before building more
Building in small steps, not big bets
Designing streets for people, not just traffic
We bring that mindset home to Lancaster.
